Job Title: General Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to join our team at Everlast Gyms in Halifax. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business, leading the team in all sales and operational processes, and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Everlast Gyms as an ambassador for fitness and demonstrate our elevated ways of working always.
  • Drive all revenue lines from membership sales to product and secondary sales to drive profitability.
  • Effective management of controllable costs like stock orders and cleaning supplies to eliminate wastage and overspend.
  • Lead by example on reception and the gym floor in this member-facing role designed to enhance every visit.
  • Ensure central processes like STRIVE and MOVE are followed and delivered to the highest level consistently.
  • Drive collective buy-in to national focuses and incentives like #WORKOUTWEDNESDAY and #WeCommunicate.
  • Lead the recruiting, monitoring, training, and onboarding of new team members within your gym.
  • Ensure that all daily, weekly, and monthly operational processes are completed consistently and to a high standard using our in-house systems.
  • Willing and able to deliver honest, constructive feedback regularly to support all team members in achieving their potential and challenging them on a daily basis.
  • Reporting facilities and maintenance-related issues in accordance with best practice guidelines.
  • Manage club rotas based on budgets, ensuring fully trained team members are always onsite.
  • Be resilient and agile to react to challenging situations and find solutions.
  • Able to effectively manage all policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, inclusive of pool plant operations.

Requirements:

  • Passion for health, fitness, and wellness.
  • Level 2 qualification in fitness (desirable).
  • 1+ year previous management role experience within the fitness industry.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Adaptability in communication and management style depending on the team member and their drivers.
  • A positive, solutions-driven mindset in the face of adversity.
  • A member champion mentality with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Driven and ambitious with a keen desire to learn and develop both behaviours and competencies specific to the role.
  • Flexibility in working hours and location to support the needs of the business, including weekends and Bank Holidays when required.
