About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Defence Infrastructure Organisation as an Area Operations Manager, responsible for leading the security operations team in a designated area of the Defence Estate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of security officers to ensure the effective delivery of security services across the designated area.
  • Develop and implement security strategies to mitigate risks and threats to the Defence Estate.
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of security services and effective communication.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the security team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to security, health and safety, and environmental management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a security or operations management role, preferably in a defence or government environment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to security, health and safety, and environmental management.
