About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Shop Manager to join our team at St Clare Hospice. As a Retail Shop Manager, you will be responsible for leading our retail team and ensuring the smooth operation of our shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and motivate the retail team to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the shop, including stock management, merchandising, and display.
  • Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed and that the shop is maintained to a high standard.
  • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to increase sales and attract new customers.
  • Manage the shop's budget and ensure that all financial targets are met.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and donors to ensure a steady supply of stock.
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve any customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work closely with the retail team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve sales and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably in a charity or non-profit organization.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Good knowledge of retail operations, including stock management, merchandising, and display.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and make informed decisions to improve sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
