About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Retail Shop Manager to join our team at St Clare Hospice. As a Retail Shop Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our shop, including managing staff and volunteers, maintaining high standards of customer service, and ensuring the shop is safe and efficient in all operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of staff and volunteers to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure the shop is well-stocked and merchandised, with a focus on maximizing profit and promoting the charity's brand.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase revenue and customer engagement.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring that all customers receive a positive and welcoming experience.
  • Manage the shop's inventory, including ordering and receiving stock, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure the shop is safe and secure, with a focus on health and safety, security, and risk management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, donors, and other stakeholders to support the shop's operations.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, customer feedback, and other key metrics to inform business decisions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a retail management role, with a focus on sales, customer service, and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, volunteers, and customers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, including sales, customer service, and inventory management.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work independently, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Commitment to the aims and charitable objectives of St Clare Hospice.
