About Us:

Hallmark Care Homes is a leading provider of high-quality care services, seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join our finance team on a temporary 3-month basis.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a diligent and experienced Credit Controller to manage the collection of outstanding debts, ensure debt over 30 days is kept to a minimum, and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Debt Collection:
    • Manage the collection of all outstanding debt across the Group.
    • Ensure that Direct Debits are set up for resident payments.
    • Reconcile Local Authority (LA) payment schedules.
  • Reporting and Record Keeping:
    • Keep a record of all correspondence with aged debtors on a debtors report.
    • Produce a month-end debtor report for the Accounts Receivable Manager.
    • Ensure potential bad debts are provided for on a monthly basis.
    • Produce reports on a timely basis and attend regular meetings with the Accounts Receivable Manager to review outstanding debts and issues.
  • Liaison and Communication:
    • Liaise with Accounts Receivable Administrators daily, providing debtor information.
    • Liaise with solicitors regarding potential litigation matters.
    • Support the Central Support Finance Department as required.
  • Financial Support:
    • Record the receipts of funds from residents, both new and existing.
    • Provide assistance at the Year-End audit.
    • Assist the Accounts Receivable Manager with projects related to business development.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure month-end procedures and deadlines are followed.

Required Skills:

  • At least 3 years of experience in commercial finance.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of credit control.
  • Basic understanding of litigation.
  • Experience in managing customer relationships.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Excellent written, non-verbal, and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based operating environments (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Explorer).
