Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Claims Account Handler to join our team at The Recruiter Ltd. As a Claims Account Handler, you will be responsible for managing a varied range of insurance claims, working autonomously and effectively managing your working day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Communication: Be the primary point of contact for clients in reporting cross-class claims, ensuring all required documentation is dealt with promptly and dispatched to insurers or their representatives without delay.
- Claim Negotiation: Negotiate with insurers as required, in relation to the settlement of claims, including policy liability and settlement amount.
- Client Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including claims history and amounts paid on settlement.
- Uninsured Loss Recovery: Assist clients in pursuing uninsured losses sustained as part of a claim, providing direct assistance or ensuring the client contacts their Uninsured Loss Recovery provider.
- Claim Investigation and Settlement: Receive notification, investigate, and settle claims within authority limits granted under any insurer delegated authority arrangement.
- Claim Chasing and Progress Updates: Maintain a diary system for outstanding claims, ensuring regular chasing and keeping customers informed of progress.
- Dispute Resolution: Advise clients on their options should insurers refuse indemnity under any policy or wish to offer a final settlement figure below original expectation, involving the formal complaints procedure, Insurance Ombudsman Bureau, and/or dispute resolution facilities.
- Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports to senior management regarding significant losses sustained by individual clients.
