Claims Account Handler

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Claims Account Handler to join our team at The Recruiter Ltd. As an Insurance Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a varied range of insurance claims, working autonomously to ensure timely and effective resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage claims from initial reporting to settlement, ensuring all required documentation is obtained and dispatched to insurers without delay.
- Negotiate with insurers to secure fair settlements, both in terms of policy liability and settlement amount.
- Maintain accurate client records, updating information on claims history and settlement amounts.
- Assist clients in pursuing uninsured losses, providing direct assistance or ensuring they contact their Uninsured Loss Recovery provider.
- Investigate and settle claims within authority limits granted under insurer delegated authority arrangements.
- Chase outstanding claims regularly, keeping customers informed of progress.
- Advise clients on their options when insurers refuse indemnity or offer a final settlement figure below expectation.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on significant losses sustained by individual clients.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in claims handling, preferably in the insurance industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, managing your working day effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of insurance policies and procedures.
