Position Overview
Forbes Solicitors is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team. This is a full-time position with a commitment of 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The Finance Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes, which include:
- Executing daily banking operations;
- Facilitating online bank transactions, including CHAPS, BACS, and Faster Payments;
- Conducting bank reconciliations for both client and business accounts;
- Performing reconciliations of client ledgers;
- Managing petty cash administration;
- Processing accounting transactions for clients and the office, including postings;
- Handling transfers from client accounts to office accounts;
- Adhering to Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) guidelines;
- Preparing Month-End SRA Compliance documentation;
- Responding to internal and external inquiries regarding accounts;

Essential Qualifications
- Prior experience in a legal cashier role;
- Strong numerical aptitude;
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines;
- Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Office Suite;
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and provide support as needed;
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity with accounting procedures;
- Experience as a legal cashier with knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules;
- Previous exposure to case management systems, preferably Partner for Windows;
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes;
