Are you dedicated to outdoor work and committed to serving the community? We have an engaging opportunity for a Cemetery Grounds Care Specialist at a Victorian Catholic Cemetery.

This position entails the upkeep and enhancement of cemetery grounds, assisting with grave preparations, and ensuring the area remains a serene and respectful environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Cemetery Foreman to execute high-quality grass strimming and mowing, ensuring grass cuttings are properly collected and removed from memorials.
  • Assist in grave preparation and maintenance of surrounding areas for funeral services.
  • Perform general upkeep tasks such as repositioning headstones, replenishing graves, and stabilizing memorials.
  • Maintain the cemetery's cleanliness, ensuring litter is removed and bins are emptied regularly.
  • Provide empathetic support to visitors and the public, particularly mourners.
  • Ensure safety for yourself and others by adhering to health and safety protocols and reporting any incidents or hazards.
  • Safely operate machinery and equipment with precision.
  • Take responsibility for the care of issued equipment and supplies.
Essential Requirements:
  • Full clean driving licence (PREFERRED - NOT ESSENTIAL)
  • Previous experience in cemetery operations (desirable but not essential).
  • A proactive, diligent, and supportive approach.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physical fitness and dexterity to perform demanding and repetitive tasks.
