Children's Social Work at Lincolnshire County Council

Our Children's Social Work teams are recognized for their excellence, holding an Outstanding rating from Ofsted. We take pride in our achievements and are committed to continuous improvement. Our practice model, 'Signs of Safety,' is complemented by a strong emphasis on restorative practices, ensuring that family strengths are acknowledged and utilized in developing solutions. Central to our approach is the belief that the child's voice should guide every plan.

We are committed to supporting all Disabled Children. Our modern offices house a team that collaborates closely with various partner agencies, including educational institutions and health services, to enhance the lives of children and young people with severe disabilities. Our Social Workers manage reasonable caseloads, allowing for long-term engagement with families.

Role of a Level 1 Social Worker

As a Level 1 Social Worker, you will apply your expertise to oversee a variety of cases from initial assessment through to ongoing support, ensuring continuity for children and families. You will work directly with children, young people, and their families, alongside other professionals, to foster a brighter future for the communities we serve. Your caseload will be diverse, presenting opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement. You will also collaborate on more complex cases with senior Social Workers, ensuring informed decision-making.

Role of a Level 2 Social Worker

In the position of Level 2 Social Worker, you will assess social care requirements, develop support plans, and evaluate care packages. Your specialized knowledge will enable you to manage more intricate cases from start to finish, providing consistency for families.

This role also offers the chance to mentor junior staff and guide students during their placements within the team.

Our Commitment to You

We understand that the role of a Social Worker can be both challenging and rewarding. Therefore, you will be part of a supportive and compassionate team environment.

Monthly professional supervision and case discussions, along with regular team meetings and development days, are integral to our approach. Our management team is readily available, and practitioners value the informal support they receive from colleagues.

Your professional development is a priority for us, and we will ensure that your learning remains a focus throughout your career. Access to the Research in Practice online platform and opportunities for fully funded professional qualifications are part of our commitment to your growth.

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer:

  • A contributory pension scheme.
  • A comprehensive benefits package with discounts and cycling initiatives.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Opportunities for career advancement.
  • A generous leave policy with the option to purchase additional days.
  • A relocation assistance package.
