Position Overview:

As a CMM Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the precision and quality of machined components. This position is integral to maintaining the high standards of our esteemed engineering client, a leader in their field.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Thursday
Friday

Compensation:
Salary up to £35,000, depending on experience, plus a non-contractual discretionary profit-related bonus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough quality inspections of both internally produced and externally sourced machined components to verify dimensional accuracy and uphold process control.
  • Create, install, and operate CNC CMM programs using PC-DMIS.
  • Perform first-off and final inspections utilizing CMM, portable measuring arms, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering drawings and tolerances for all manufactured components.
  • Collaborate with the drawing office to confirm that all revisions are current and effectively communicated.
  • Execute patrol inspections to verify that documentation is accurately completed and operator checks are recorded.
  • Work alongside the Assembly and Inspection Manager to ensure all measuring equipment is calibrated according to established frequencies.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure that external treatments are dispatched and verified upon return.
  • Adhere to ISO systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Perform additional duties as required and deemed appropriate.

Qualifications:
  • Proven engineering knowledge in precision measurement using a Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), with programming expertise in PC-DMIS.
  • Experience with various manual inspection tools, including gauges, micrometers, and verniers.
  • Background in a CNC machining environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, documents, purchase orders, and inspection manuals.
  • Familiarity with Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) and First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with different departments and external suppliers.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities, able to make informed decisions based on facts and logic.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
