KTL is seeking a highly skilled SHEQ Director to lead the development and implementation of our company's Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems across Ireland and the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, as well as driving a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership
    • Develop and implement a behavioral safety culture that promotes a safe working environment for all employees.
    • Lead a proactive SHEQ approach, including prioritizing and planning departmental activities, providing advice and guidance on SHEQ policy and legislation, and championing best practices.
    • Ensure that staff well-being initiatives are integrated into the H&S plans.
    • Manage the annual budget for the SHEQ department and plan training and risk management initiatives.
  • Systems Management
    • Develop and maintain compliance with ISO Management Systems, including ISO 14001, 45001, 9001, and 27001.
    • Implement an effective corrective action process and evaluate, update, and develop new and existing SHEQ documentation.
    • Manage the PMO system for calibration and inspection of equipment and establish an audit schedule.
  • Governance
    • Maintain an effective H&S governance process, including regular reviews, record-keeping, and action closure.
    • Coach and develop the team of H&S Officers and Advisors to support Project Leaders.
    • Analyze SHEQ data and prepare and communicate trends and reports.
  • Training
    • Develop and manage a company-wide training program, prioritizing, budgeting, monitoring adherence, evaluating effectiveness, and aligning with KTL and Client values.

  • Expertise in H&S and ISO systems, with the ability to distill best practices across the company.
  • Passion for delivering SHEQ compliance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.
  • Results-driven leadership with a proven track record of process improvement.
  • Data-driven decision-making and a willingness to travel within Ireland and the UK as required.
