Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Executive Chef to join our team at Blue Arrow. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of chefs and delivering exceptional food service to our clients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative and creative menus that showcase seasonal ingredients and food trends.
  • Train and develop the skills of junior staff, promoting teamwork and cooperation within the brigade.
  • Lead a high-performing team of chefs, ensuring effective operation across a five-day schedule.
  • Provide strategic guidance on commercial food and menu planning, enhancing the company's reputation for food quality and customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations, as well as COSHH and other relevant standards.
  • Drive sales through centrally driven menu plans and promotions, ensuring compliance with preferred suppliers.
  • Provide high-quality service to customers and clients, aligning with our food service offer and sector standards.
  • Develop costings for new menus and promotions, and provide seasonal changing menus and product tastings as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing and leading a kitchen team within a hotel environment.
  • Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments and innovation.
  • Strong front-of-house presence, with the ability to engage with senior clients.
  • Strong financial understanding and demonstrable budgeting management.
  • Experience in adhering to and driving company initiatives.
  • Personal innovation and passion for food service.
  • Demonstrable customer focus and service skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working in a standards/compliance environment.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as City & Guilds 706/1, 2, or NVQ Level 3, and a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3.
