Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PhD researcher to join our team at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in the field of advanced temperature measurement. As a PhD researcher, you will be responsible for contributing to the development of a new miniaturized on-chip approach for temperature measurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop computer-based models for temperature measurement
  • Collaborate with our team to fabricate and test prototypes at the NPL
  • Contribute to the development of practical primary thermometry through active Ring Resonator Thermometry
  • Work towards creating a fully integrated on-chip sensor with all necessary components micro-fabricated on a single device

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field, such as physics, materials science, or engineering
  • Strong background in quantum thermometry and temperature measurement
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
