About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health Advisor to join our team at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary. As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will play a crucial role in providing objective occupational health advice to support the effective management of our workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical assessments of employees' health and fitness for their roles, maintaining clinical objectivity and impartiality in line with occupational health guidelines.
  • Ensure appointments are available in person, by phone, or via Teams, as required by the organization.
  • Travel to alternative locations across the Constabulary to facilitate clinics and appointments, with adequate notice.
  • Undertake health surveillance in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Obtain specialist reports when necessary and collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, and counsellors to provide comprehensive occupational health reports supporting individual rehabilitation and effective return-to-work plans.
  • Provide clinical advice on the recruitment and selection of police officers and staff.
Essential Qualifications and Experience

We require a Registered General Nurse with current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and Occupational Health Degree. Additionally, you should hold Occupational Health Specialist Practitioner Status - Part 3 NMC and be trained in health surveillance, such as audiometry, spirometry, and vision screening.

Significant clinical experience, ability to maintain clear and accurate records, and occupational health experience are also essential.
