London, Greater London, United Kingdom Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

This role presents a remarkable opportunity for a CAMHS clinician or Specialist Eating Disorder Nurse to become part of our community-based early intervention service focused on eating difficulties. Collaborating closely with CAMHS services throughout North Central London and the specialized Eating Disorder Service, we seek professionals with a background in eating disorders or child and adolescent mental health, including clinical psychology, systemic psychotherapy, or nursing, who are passionate about working with children aged 8-18 years.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position will be the assessment and treatment of early onset eating disorders and mild Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). You will utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Therapy for Anorexia (FT-AN), and other relevant interventions within your professional scope. Group therapy and psychoeducation are integral components of our service delivery.

This role is one of five specialized CAMHS Practitioner positions dedicated to providing clinical interventions for children and young people experiencing early onset disordered eating. As a practitioner, you will be part of an early intervention initiative, delivering effective, evidence-based services to support children and adolescents presenting with mild to moderate eating difficulties.

You will be expected to operate within the community as well as at designated sites, manage a clinical caseload, and facilitate training and group work as part of the early intervention strategy. You will be employed by the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust and will collaborate with local CAMHS teams for a minimum of two days each week.

Team Collaboration

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will receive regular clinical supervision from a senior member of the service. You will also collaborate with other team members to provide specialized CAMHS Eating Difficulties advice, consultation, and training as needed.

We are looking for individuals who are dedicated to enhancing outcomes for young people facing early onset eating challenges. You will have access to training and continuing professional development opportunities that the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust offers.
