Position Overview

Are you a seasoned clinician seeking a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a transformative service? We invite applications from dedicated and passionate Consultant Psychologists who prioritize patient-centered care and are eager to take on a leadership role within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We particularly encourage candidates with experience in diverse social and cultural communities, as we aim to enhance the diversity of our psychology workforce to better reflect the communities we serve. The successful candidate will receive support to advance their career and thrive as an integral member of our psychology team, collaborating closely with the Head of Therapies for CAMHS.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Consultant in Psychology position is a newly established role focused on enhancing the existing psychological services within CNWL's Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We seek a driven and committed Psychologist who is enthusiastic about leading the advancement of psychological therapies and therapy pathways within a specialized service catering to children, young people, and their families across multiple London boroughs, serving a diverse clientele. Each borough is supported by its own local CAMHS team, alongside specialized inpatient units and urgent care services. The successful candidate will supervise and collaborate with Psychology Leads across these areas, ensuring high standards of clinical governance, quality, and appropriateness of psychological services, including supervision and training. By providing expert insights and consulting on complex cases, the Lead Psychologist for CAMHS will also play a vital role in the professional development of colleagues. Opportunities will arise to lead trust-wide initiatives and engage in various specialties, driving service evaluations, time-limited projects, and audits as directed by the Head of Therapies.
