Clinical Psychology Specialist for Youth Services

Position Overview
We are pleased to announce a remarkable opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist with a background in working with adolescents and their families to join our dedicated team within the Tri-borough Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). This is a full-time, permanent position at Band 7 within the CAMHS Alliance.
The Alliance Crisis Care Team is a developing service designed to deliver short-term interventions and outreach support to children and young individuals facing acute psychological and mental health challenges. The primary goal is to avert the need for hospitalization in both general and psychiatric facilities. This role provides the chance to conduct frontline crisis evaluations and interventions, while also enhancing your clinical skills through engagement with a CAMHS Helpline.
We recognize that each team member possesses unique skills, and we are committed to fostering an environment that supports personal and professional growth. We are looking for individuals who are innovative, adaptable, and confident in their problem-solving abilities.
We invite applications from Clinical or Counselling Psychologists who have relevant experience in CAMHS and are eager to contribute to our mission.
The successful candidate will collaborate with fellow psychologists within the team while managing an individual caseload. Regular clinical, professional, and managerial supervision will be provided by an experienced Clinical Psychologist.
Key Responsibilities
The CAMHS Specialist Clinical Psychologist will engage in delivering expert mental health services to children, young people, and their families across the West London NHS Trust's three boroughs CAMHS and crisis pathway.
Responsibilities will include:
- Comprehensive assessments of children and adolescents with mental health needs, including risk evaluations and the formulation of risk management strategies.
- Providing brief interventions and outreach support to those presenting with severe psychological and mental health issues, aiming to prevent admissions to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Units.
- Facilitating safe and timely discharges from mental health units.
- Offering helpline support, delivering first-line advice and assistance to callers seeking help across the tri-borough area.
About Our Organization
West London NHS Trust is recognized as one of the most diverse healthcare providers in the UK, offering a wide range of mental health and physical healthcare services. The Trust operates Broadmoor Hospital, one of the three high secure hospitals in the country, known for its international reputation.
Our secure services cater to patients from the South of England, while we provide low and medium secure services across eight London boroughs. The Trust also delivers mental and physical healthcare in three boroughs (Ealing, Hounslow, and Hammersmith & Fulham), employing 4,500 staff, with a significant proportion from diverse backgrounds.
