Caxton Youth Organisation is a specialist youth club that creates community, breaks barriers, and empowers learning disabled and autistic young people. We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Youth Development Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will provide innovative, exciting, and accessible youth work and youth projects to disabled young people aged 11-25 years old. They will also support the running of girls groups, work alongside colleagues to support children and young people from the Westminster community, and deliver holiday programmes and residentials.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering youth projects that cater to the needs of learning disabled and autistic young people
  • Supporting the development of girls groups and ensuring their safe and inclusive participation
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement youth programmes that meet the needs of the Westminster community
  • Delivering holiday programmes and residentials that provide a safe and supportive environment for young people

Requirements include:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in the youth work sector
  • A minimum Level 2 Youth Work qualification
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • A strong understanding of the principles of youth work and inclusive practice
  • Advanced use of Microsoft packages
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
  • Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative
  • Willingness to travel and work unsociable hours
