Dundee, Dundee City, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

NHS Scotland is dedicated to fostering equality and diversity within our workforce while eliminating any form of unlawful discrimination. Our goal is to ensure that our workforce is genuinely representative, allowing every employee to feel valued and empowered to perform at their best.

An exciting position has emerged within the Dundee Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service (DDARS) for a nurse specialist or trainee. This role involves comprehensive case management, including non-medical prescribing, and requires working in various community settings, including outreach services.

DDARS is a supportive, innovative, and forward-thinking team focused on providing care for individuals facing challenges with opiate or alcohol dependencies. We ensure that our staff receive full support to complete the necessary training to develop both clinical and psychological skills essential for aiding individuals in their recovery journey.

We are looking for a candidate who is either an independent non-medical prescriber or someone eager to undergo training to fulfill this essential role.

The position demands a high level of effective collaboration and communication with a diverse range of multidisciplinary teams. The individual will report directly to the Nurse Team Leader.

This role offers the chance to engage in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex drug and/or alcohol dependencies, along with emotional and psychological needs.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment and drive to meet the expectations of this engaging role. You will actively contribute to service delivery and development to align with strategic objectives. A commitment to quality governance and practice, as well as excellent communication skills, is essential.

For Trainees: During the training period, you will be under Annex 21 paragraph 2(i). Upon successful completion of the required training, you will progress to the agreed banding.

Applicants must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1, RNA, RN3, or RNMH, or Sub-part 2: RN2 or RN4 of the UK NMC Register.
