Lead Fire Safety Engineer

Position Overview: This opportunity involves working with a prominent client on one of Europe's most significant infrastructure initiatives, focusing on innovative, ambitious, and environmentally responsible solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation of strategies, requirements, specifications, and standards for fire engineering design, encompassing evacuation protocols, compartmentation, detection and alarm systems, as well as fire suppression systems.
- Deliver technical expertise and guidance on fire engineering matters to both internal teams and external stakeholders as necessary.
- Contribute to the technical assurance process for fire engineering disciplines, including safety arguments and technical documentation to validate compliance with current fire safety regulations and established standards.
- Facilitate the management of interfaces between fire systems and other infrastructure components.
- Participate in the Qualitative Design Review (QDR) process, identifying specific fire prevention and protection challenges and requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments in alignment with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
- Support effective liaison and engagement with Fire and Rescue Services throughout all project phases (design, construction, operational).
- Engage with relevant internal teams affected by fire engineering design, particularly in Infrastructure Management, Railway Systems, Technical Services, asset projects, and contract management.
- Perform fire safety inspections and audits during the construction, testing, and commissioning phases of the project.
- Assist in developing Emergency Plans and in the planning and execution of tabletop and live exercises.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of fire engineering and life safety, staying updated on legislative requirements and how standards and best practices inform their application.
- Promote and integrate Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles in all aspects of work, supporting and adhering to organizational initiatives, policies, and procedures related to EDI.
Qualifications: Relevant Fire Safety certifications are essential, with a preference for candidates possessing substantial experience in large-scale buildings or infrastructure projects.
