Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Employee Relations Consultant to lead and manage a personal case load and/or projects, drawing on relevant expertise to resolve complex issues and manage business risk. The successful candidate will deliver a company-wide HR service line, including associated data management, provider management, legal compliance, and delivery of supporting employee communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and Manage a Personal Case Load: The Employee Relations Consultant will lead and manage a personal case load and/or projects, drawing on relevant expertise to resolve complex issues and manage business risk.
  2. Deliver a Company-Wide HR Service Line: The successful candidate will deliver a company-wide HR service line, including associated data management, provider management, legal compliance, and delivery of supporting employee communications.
  3. Lead the Consistent Delivery of High-Quality HR/ER Advice: The Employee Relations Consultant will lead the consistent delivery of high-quality HR/ER advice to customers, working to agreed SLAs and driving a customer-centric service and culture of continuous improvement and process optimization.
  4. Setting Direction and Developing a Shared Understanding: The successful candidate will set direction and develop a shared understanding of individuals' roles in delivering the company vision and strategy.
  5. Lead and Deliver a Defined HR Service: The Employee Relations Consultant will lead and deliver a defined HR service to support the needs of the business, working with each Head of HR CoE's to ensure that at all times they are legally compliant, relevant, and timely, and reflect client needs and industry best practice.
  6. Provide Data and Expert Analysis: The successful candidate will provide data, undertake expert analysis, research, and make recommendations on HR solutions. The Employee Relations Consultant will facilitate the creation and management of reports to track key measures of success.
  7. Align Client Processes and Policies: The successful candidate will align client processes, policies, and practices to keep in line with best practices and legal requirements to deliver improvements and build momentum for change. The Employee Relations Consultant will build relationships with external related organizations to maintain legal and regulatory compliance and best practice.

Requirements:

  1. Strong Industrial Relation/Trade Union/Large Industrial Site Experience: The successful candidate will have strong industrial relation/trade union/large industrial site experience.
  2. Good Working Knowledge of Employment Law: The Employee Relations Consultant will have a good working knowledge of employment law.
  3. Strong Listening and Evaluating Skills: The successful candidate will have strong listening and evaluating skills.
  4. Managerial Business Skills: The Employee Relations Consultant will have managerial business skills.
  5. Strong Stakeholder Engagement: The successful candidate will have strong stakeholder engagement.
  6. Experience of Drafting Documents and Agreements: The Employee Relations Consultant will have experience of drafting documents and agreements.
  7. Strong Analytical Skills: The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, able to resolve pay and cost queries.
  8. Able to Communicate with Front Line: The Employee Relations Consultant will be able to communicate with front-line staff, not a standard HR/desk-based role.
  9. Strong MS Office Skills: The successful candidate will have strong MS Office skills.
  10. Educated to Degree Level: The Employee Relations Consultant will be educated to degree level, with the ability to understand legalese and be good with numbers.
