Job Summary:

Avantor is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team at our Hichrom, Theale/Reading site. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all finished products meet the required specifications by conducting routine product quality checks and performing analytical QC performance tests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine product quality checks to ensure that all finished products meet the required specifications.
  • Perform analytical QC performance tests to ensure lot-to-lot reproducibility of in-house manufactured separation media.
  • Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) products and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance and validation activities to ensure that equipment and processes are functioning properly.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to ensure that products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
  • Identify and report any quality issues or deviations from standard procedures.
  • Participate in process improvements and implement changes as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and company policies.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous quality control experience in a laboratory or food-related environment.
  • Good understanding of COSHH and ISO 9001/14001.
  • Working knowledge of chromatography is desirable but not essential.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Awareness of general hazards in a laboratory environment.
