We are on the lookout for a proactive and results-driven SHEQ Manager to join a well-established engineering firm that specializes in sustainable product design and manufacturing, boasting a turnover exceeding £200 million.
In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in enhancing health, safety, quality, and environmental practices throughout the organization.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting a culture of safety and regulatory compliance across all operations.
- Leading the design and execution of comprehensive SHEQ management systems.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering innovation.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards, including ISO 9001, FORS, RISQS, Achilles, and Ecovadis.
- Developing and implementing sustainability strategies across the organization.
- Managing a compliance team, including one direct report.
- Maintaining Quality Management Systems in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Preparing for and conducting annual audits.
- Evaluating third-party suppliers and business partners.
- Chairing HSQE & F Management Review meetings.
- Overseeing risk assessments for all operational sites and field engineering teams.
- Conducting site evaluations and upholding health and safety procedures.
- Managing hazardous waste documentation and processes.
- Providing training on environmental protection protocols.
This position demands a strategic thinker with a proven history of managing and executing health, safety, quality, and environmental initiatives.
To succeed as the SHEQ Manager, you should possess:
- Tech IOSH / Grad IOSH or CMIOSH qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience in SHEQ management, preferably within manufacturing, engineering, or technical sectors.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal capabilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety laws and best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
This role will require you to be onsite for 1-2 days each week, with the remainder of your time spent across additional operational sites.
