Quality Assurance Engineer

Yoh, A Day & Zimmermann Company, a prominent UK manufacturer renowned for its cutting-edge CCTV Systems and Public Address & General Alarm (PAGA) Systems, is looking to enhance its workforce by adding a proficient Quality Assurance Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

Understanding Circuit Schematics: Interpret and adhere to intricate circuit schematics to guarantee precise assembly and troubleshooting.

PCB Troubleshooting and Repair: Identify and rectify multilayer PCBs at the component level, including surface-mount device (SMD) rework of 0603/0805/16 pin ICs, demonstrating exceptional hand soldering skills.

Networking and Software Acumen: Have a foundational knowledge of networking systems and software to facilitate system integration and troubleshooting.

Electrical Safety: Conduct work safely with various mains voltages.

Testing Procedures and Documentation: Execute comprehensive product and system testing protocols, ensuring meticulous and accurate documentation.

Problem Solving: Effectively address challenges encountered during testing to uphold product quality and performance.

Time Management Skills: Operate within stringent timelines and schedules to ensure all equipment is ready for customer presentation or dispatch.

Collaborative Teamwork: Engage and communicate effectively within a small team, extending collaboration to other departments as required.

Factory Acceptance Testing: Prepare for and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests, which may involve direct interaction with clients.

Quality System Engagement: Adhere to and contribute to the organization's quality management system, ensuring compliance and ongoing improvement.

Remote Assistance: Offer remote support to site service engineers during business hours, ensuring prompt issue resolution.

Product Development Feedback: Collaborate with the Development team, providing constructive insights to improve product design and functionality.

Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical Engineering Certification: Hold a Technical Engineering certificate (e.g., City & Guilds) or possess relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 3 years in public address equipment or a similar field.

Audio Visual Expertise: Knowledge of audio visual systems is advantageous.

Familiarity with Raspberry Pi: Experience with 'Raspberry Pi' or comparable devices is beneficial.

Understanding of Hazardous Areas: Knowledge of hazardous area concepts and principles is highly desirable.
