Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Team Lead to join our team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Neonatal Services team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Ward Manager in promoting a high standard of care for babies and families
  • Work closely with all disciplines to ensure effective teamwork and communication
  • Take charge of the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager and provide leadership to junior colleagues and students
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and unit performance
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless care transitions and patient flow
Requirements
  • Registered nurse with experience in Neonatal Intensive Care
  • Qualified in Speciality (Neonates), ENB 405 or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience on a neonatal unit at Band 5
  • Evidence of Neonatal Advanced Life support training
  • Experience of mentorship/teaching for trained and untrained staff
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • ENB 997/8 or relevant teaching qualification
  • Participation in leadership programme eg Leo or Chrysalis
  • Experience of project work as lead or active participant
Key Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with all members of the healthcare team, colleagues, parents, and carers
  • Ability to motivate others and work effectively in a team
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate work effectively
  • Flexibility to work over seven days per week, to support the delivery of a 24-hour service
