About the Role

Harrison Drury Solicitors, a leading law firm in the North West, is seeking an experienced contentious probate solicitor to join our busy team in one of our Lancashire offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision, handling disputes arising from wills, trusts, and inheritance, including 1975 Act claims.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and professional referrers, providing exceptional client service and communication skills.
  • Participate in marketing activities to promote the firm's services, with a focus on probate matters.
  • Manage client work allocated by the Head of Department or other fee-earners, ensuring timely progress and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of client documentation and information, adhering to Law Society and GDPR regulations.
  • Achieve agreed billing and time recording targets.
  • Develop good working relationships with internal and external institutions and organizations.
  • Support team members as required and contribute to the team's objectives.
Requirements
  • At least 40% of previous caseload should be contentious trust and probate related.
  • Experience in non-contentious private client work is advantageous.
  • Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to nurture existing clients and third-party relationships.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and potential leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and work to strict timescales.
  • Empathy, compassion, and maturity.
  • Ambition to learn and make a difference to the firm.
  • Ability to develop new sources of work and introductions.
  • Excellent IT skills, including case management systems.
  • Ability to work as part of the team, showing flexibility in attitude and behavior.
