About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join our team at Simpson Judge Ltd. As a senior member of our probate and trust team, you will be responsible for handling a busy caseload with minimal supervision, developing relationships with clients, and promoting the firm's services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Manage client work allocated by the Head of Department or other fee-earners, ensuring that all client work is progressed expeditiously and that the client is kept regularly informed on realistic outcomes, progress, and costs.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that their expectations are surpassed and that they are kept informed throughout the process.
  • Marketing and Business Development: Participate in marketing activities and actively promote the firm's full range of services, with a focus on probate matters.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal and external institutions and organizations to achieve the team's objectives and promote the firm's values.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1-3 years PQE essential, with at least 40% of previous caseload being contentious trust and probate related.
  • Skills: Excellent client-facing skills, ability to progress work quickly with an eye for detail, and excellent organization, communication, and potential leadership skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Empathy, compassion, and maturity, with a strong ambition to learn and make a difference to the firm.
