About the Role

Harrison Drury Solicitors, a leading law firm in the North West, is seeking an experienced contentious probate solicitor to join our busy team in one of our Lancashire offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision, handling disputes arising from wills, trusts, and inheritance, including 1975 Act claims.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and professional referrers, providing exceptional client service and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Participate in marketing activities to promote the firm's services, with a focus on probate matters.
  • Manage client work allocated by the Head of Department or other fee-earners, ensuring timely progression and effective communication with clients.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation, adhering to Law Society and GDPR regulations.
  • Achieve agreed billing and time recording targets, while developing good working relationships with internal and external institutions.
  • Support team members as required and contribute to the team's objectives, promoting the firm's values.
Requirements
  • At least 40% of previous caseload should be contentious trust and probate related.
  • Experience in non-contentious private client work is advantageous.
  • Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to nurture existing clients and develop new business.
  • Strong organisation, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize work and meet strict timescales.
  • Empathy, compassion, and maturity, with a willingness to learn and make a positive impact on the firm.
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience with case management systems.
