Position Overview

This role is a fixed-term opportunity due to maternity leave.

An exciting position has become available for a Senior Physiotherapy Specialist to join our orthopaedic clinic, collaborating closely with a leading orthopaedic lower limb surgeon.

The successful candidate will work alongside the orthopaedic consultant in their clinics, focusing on the assessment and management of patients following surgical procedures. Additionally, the role includes providing guidance and training to physiotherapy colleagues within the central physiotherapy service.

The post holder will function as an independent, extended scope practitioner, utilizing advanced physiotherapy techniques to deliver a specialized clinical service to patients under the orthopaedic consultant's care.

Our physiotherapy service offers a comprehensive career pathway, with opportunities for advancement to Band 8A as a clinical advanced practitioner. We encourage service enhancement and development, ensuring all staff have access to ongoing supervision and professional development.

This position provides the chance to be part of a large, established, and supportive team in a picturesque region.

Welsh language skills are desirable for this role; applications from both Welsh and English speakers are welcomed.

Main Responsibilities

1. Lead clinical assessments and treatment plans for patients with complex health issues.

2. Operate as an independent clinical specialist physiotherapist, collaborating with advanced practitioner physiotherapists to establish and maintain a high-quality clinical service across the organization. Set a standard of excellence in patient assessment and treatment across various settings.

3. Enhance the competencies of frontline clinical staff, enabling them to assess, reason clinically, and effectively treat routine cases while identifying those with complex needs requiring additional support.

4. Develop and implement a continuous training program to enhance the knowledge and skills of the workforce within the specialty and rotational staff.
