Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will:

  • Serve as the primary case manager for children in need, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Implement statutory duties and departmental policies effectively in service delivery.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of vulnerable children and young people, considering their wishes and family dynamics.
  • Develop and execute tailored plans in collaboration with children, families, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Regularly review and update individual plans to ensure they remain focused on positive outcomes.
  • Facilitate meetings and core group discussions to support the implementation of care plans.
  • Prepare detailed reports for various meetings, including child protection conferences and legal hearings.
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies to deliver coordinated services that prioritize the needs of children and families.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records of casework and interventions.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamics and engage in professional development opportunities.
