About the Institution:

Position Overview:

This is a full-time position focused on providing support to a specific child through a trauma-informed lens. The child is under an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).

Success in this role requires outstanding behavior management abilities, along with significant patience and resilience.

Your responsibilities will include assisting the child within the classroom and fostering engagement in various learning activities.

Additionally, you will offer SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) support outside of the classroom setting.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement targeted interventions addressing SEMH requirements
  • Assist the child in class to access educational content and participate in lessons
  • Utilize a trauma-informed strategy to handle challenging behaviors with composure and patience
  • Ensure the child's safety and well-being at all times
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and/or SENDCo

Essential Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in supporting SEMH development in children
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed methodologies
  • Capability to establish and nurture trusting relationships
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Flexibility and readiness to adapt to evolving needs

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in both mainstream and/or specialized educational settings
  • Additional educational qualifications
