About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Operative to join our team at Vistry Group PLC. As a Site Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our construction sites, maintaining a safe and clean working environment, and supporting the Site Management team in their daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Maintenance
    • Perform general labouring duties to assist in the maintenance of plots, compound, and surrounding areas.
    • Ensure the site is clean and tidy, removing debris and waste materials, and digging trenches as required.
  • Health and Safety
    • Maintain and follow all safety procedures on the job site, reporting violations immediately to Site Management.
    • Ensure the site is operating in accordance with health and safety requirements, reporting breaches and taking action as necessary.
  • Site Security
    • Secure any hazards each evening prior to leaving site.
    • Provide basic first aid if required, having received the necessary training.
  • Material Management
    • Assist with the loading and unloading of site materials, ensuring they are protected in accordance with site material storage.
    • Work with the Materials Controller to ensure the safe storage of heavy materials.
  • Site Presentation
    • Maintain site presentation, including tidiness and organisation of storage areas, clearing general debris, and ensuring compliance with the housekeeping policy.
    • Assist with the snagging and cleaning of plots.
  • Other Duties
    • Open and close the site each day.
    • Supervise the main gate to ensure all visitors have valid operative entry and all deliveries are signed for and guided to the compound.
