Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Services Technician to join our facilities team at the University of Cambridge. This role offers the opportunity to provide a high level of service to our buildings, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day maintenance across our buildings, including laboratories, classrooms, offices, and lecture theatres.
  • Support the team with planned and reactive maintenance to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Maintain and monitor heating, plumbing, and ventilation systems, deal with gas canisters, and perform general building infrastructure repairs.
  • Assist with the installation of equipment, electrical testing, and portering.
  • Contribute to refurbishment projects, including painting and carpentry.
Requirements
  • Good organisational, problem-solving, and fault-finding skills.
  • Flexibility, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a team.
  • Experience in a maintenance role, with training provided for a University or laboratory environment.
Working Arrangements

We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working (minimum 30 hours per week).
