About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Specialist to join our team at DX. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth clearance of goods through customs, both import and export.
Main Responsibilities
- Process customs declarations in a timely and accurate manner, utilizing our customs platform.
- Maintain internal controls to guarantee compliance with customs regulations.
- Identify and report any non-compliance issues to the Import Export Manager, ensuring prompt remedial action.
- Manage and resolve customs-related import and export entry declarations, maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Provide support for transit arrivals and departures, as well as safety and security declarations.
- Ensure all HMRC and Revenue Ireland requirements are met, and assist with internal audits.
- Act as a liaison between parcel handlers, customer service colleagues, and external authorities to coordinate international shipments effectively.
- Utilize Excel, MS Word, and other software to perform repetitive data entry tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous experience with import/export customs formalities is highly desirable, but not essential as comprehensive training will be provided.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and remain motivated.
Personal Specifications
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varied shift patterns, including twilight and PM shifts, as required by the operation.
- Able to work independently and highlight errors to colleagues and manager.
- Responsible and dedicated attitude towards work.
- Checkable work history.
- Desire to pursue a qualification in Customs/International Trade.
