Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Pre-Construction Manager to join our team at Sewell Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the tender process across multiple projects, ensuring the accurate costing and risk appraisal of our business needs.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction, with experience in managing tender processes, estimating teams, and client engagement. You will be responsible for evaluating the quality element of tenders, providing technical input, and managing the logistical detail of tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the quality element of tenders, including PCI and headline requirements
  • Provide technical input on groundworks, temporary works, building superstructure, and internal fit-out
  • Review and write linked programs in MPP, taking into account key activities and phasing requirements
  • Manage initial design to ensure sufficient detail is available for tender development
  • Support estimating teams to collate and produce technical query schedules
  • Provide logistical and site plans to ensure consideration of key areas
  • Produce quality submissions, including detailed methodology, logistical plans, and health and safety information
Requirements
  • Recognised industry qualification in construction (HNC or above)
  • Full driving licence, valid in the UK
  • Demonstrable operational and technical construction experience and knowledge
  • Proficiency in programming software and development of literature to articulate delivery strategy
  • Great teamwork and customer-focused outlook with a 'can-do' attitude
  • Sound commercial understanding and risk management skills
  • Sound knowledge of current H&S practices
  • Be personable and a good communicator with a positive outlook
  • Great organisational skills, capable of delivering multiple schemes simultaneously
