Biomedical Scientist Specialist

Cambridge University Hospitals is seeking highly motivated and skilled individuals to join our Haematology Department as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a leading healthcare provider, renowned for its clinical excellence and innovative research.
Main Responsibilities- Process specialist investigations in the department
- Provide specialist advice to clinicians on test appropriateness and timescales
- Provide specialist service training and problem-solving for specialist requirements
- Work independently and lead on specialist areas as directed by the Lead BMS
- Act as a mentor for junior scientific and support staff
- Work flexibly to reflect service needs, including extended working days and participation in a 24/7 service
- Supervise and train less experienced staff in own area of work
- Maintain and promote a professional image of the CUH Trust
- Lead and supervise a section of the laboratory as required
