Job Summary

Cambridge University Hospitals is seeking highly motivated and skilled individuals to join our Haematology Department as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a leading healthcare provider, renowned for its clinical excellence and innovative research.

Main Responsibilities
  • Process specialist investigations in the department
  • Provide specialist advice to clinicians on test appropriateness and timescales
  • Provide specialist service training and problem-solving for specialist requirements
  • Work independently and lead on specialist areas as directed by the Lead BMS
  • Act as a mentor for junior scientific and support staff
  • Work flexibly to reflect service needs, including extended working days and participation in a 24/7 service
  • Supervise and train less experienced staff in own area of work
  • Maintain and promote a professional image of the CUH Trust
  • Lead and supervise a section of the laboratory as required
