About the Role

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology Department. As a Specialist Biomedical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the department's success.

Main Responsibilities

  • Process specialist investigations in the department
  • Provide specialist advice to clinicians on test appropriateness and timescales
  • Develop and implement specialist services, including training and problem-solving
  • Work independently and lead on specialist areas as directed by the Lead BMS
  • Act as a mentor for junior scientific and support staff
  • Work flexibly to meet service needs, including extended working days and participation in a 24/7 service
  • Supervise and train less experienced staff in your area of work
  • Maintain and promote a professional image of the CUH Trust
  • Lead and supervise a section of the laboratory as required
