Job Overview

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Palliative Care Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Louis Dundas Centre for Paediatric Palliative Care, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients and their families, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines, ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with best practice and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Participate in education and training activities, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues to enhance the quality of care provided.
  • Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of new treatments and care pathways.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Hold GMC specialist registration with a Licence to Practice.
  • Hold MRCP, MRCPCH or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Paediatrics.
  • Hold CCT/CCST in Paediatric Palliative Medicine (PPM) or equivalent training and experience.
Desirable Criteria
  • Hold a higher degree (PhD, MD or equivalent).
  • Hold a formal teaching qualification.
  • Hold a leadership or management qualification.
