A dynamic opportunity has arisen for a Building Services Manager to join a leading regional contractor, specializing in projects within the Healthcare, Education, and Local Authority sectors. This is an exciting time to join the company, given its plans for growth and expansion.
The purpose of this role is to manage the building services element from construction, commissioning, and handover, providing technical support to onsite construction activities to maintain quality benchmarks. The successful candidate will assist the Design Manager in discharging their specific tasks and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review tender information and determine the scope and extent of all remaining design work prior to the tender start-up meeting.
- Verify that existing tender information is compliant, coordinated, affordable, and buildable prior to the tender settlement meeting.
- Determine, in conjunction with the bid team, the strategy for completing all remaining design work.
- Assess and audit novated design team members and negotiate additional services if applicable.
- Prepare and issue fee enquiries for supplementary design team members.
- Develop, in conjunction with the design team, competitive and technically robust design and engineering solutions.
- Engage with specialist subcontractors to develop innovative design solutions and close out design interfaces.
- Manage the submission and timely approval of all reviewable design data.
- Assist in the commercial and technical review of specialist subcontract tender returns, establish interfaces, and review alternative design.
- Prepare technical submissions for alternative designs, systems, components, products, and material proposals for client approval.
- Establish quality benchmarks, review regularly, and undertake final acceptance.
- Manage the installation of utilities.
Requirements:
- Experience covering design, construction, and commissioning stages of complex projects.
- A high level of technical expertise in MEP services, including process engineering.
- Experience working in 3D and with off-site manufacturing approaches.
- Competence in using 4Projects or similar Common Data Environment.
- Knowledge of software, including AutoCAD and BIM.
- HNC or above in a building services or construction-related field.
- A full UK driving license.
