Job Duties
General Responsibilities
Perform additional duties as required, within the scope of training and competence. Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to meet the needs of the organization.
Clinical Tasks
- Conduct routine health measurements, including weight, height, pulse, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels.
- Process and record clinical urine samples.
- Perform venepuncture and prepare pathology samples.
- Conduct domiciliary visits for blood tests as needed.
- Execute routine patient dressings following established guidelines.
- Carry out ECGs as requested by medical practitioners.
- Facilitate various health checks, including NHS Health Checks and diabetes assessments.
- Provide lifestyle advice to promote health and well-being.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of clinical waste.
- Maintain infection control standards in clinical settings.
- Monitor and record medical supplies and equipment conditions.
- Manage incoming communications in the treatment area.
- Input patient information into the clinical system.
- Administer vaccinations and injections as per training.
- Support patients in smoking cessation efforts.
- Assist other healthcare professionals as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Experience working within a healthcare team.
- Familiarity with vulnerable patient care.
Desirable
- Background in primary care settings.
- Experience in a general practice environment.
Educational Requirements
Essential
- GCSEs in English and Maths (grades A to C).
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
Desirable
- Phlebotomy qualification.
- NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field.
