Fixed term contract | Competitive salary | Full-time or job share options available
Welcome Payment: We are pleased to offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Practice Consultants, and Team Managers joining Norfolk County Council. This amount is subject to repayment if employment is terminated within two years.
Salary Matching: For experienced Social Workers transitioning to Norfolk County Council, we strive to match or exceed your current salary, provided it aligns with the advertised grade.
Our Commitment: At Norfolk County Council, we genuinely care about our employees and the communities we serve.
We are seeking a Practice Consultant to support the Adult Mental Health Social Care service, specifically to cover maternity leave for an existing post-holder. The role offers flexibility with hybrid working arrangements, allowing for work from various office locations or from home.
As a Practice Consultant, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations, including the allocation of tasks and support for assistant practitioners across five locality teams. Key responsibilities may involve:
- Protection of Property duties
- Crisis assessments
- Commissioning urgent care packages
- Initial management of safeguarding referrals
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure, maintain organization, and prioritize risk assessments for incoming cases.
While knowledge of mental health needs is advantageous, it is not mandatory, as a comprehensive induction will be provided prior to the current post-holder's departure. Ongoing support will be available through regular supervision and training opportunities.
Collaboration is key in this fast-paced environment, requiring effective communication with various professionals from both internal and external agencies. Most interactions will occur via telephone, but some face-to-face assessments will be necessary, so access to transportation is essential.
Additionally, you will oversee some practitioners responsible for the duty function on a permanent basis.
Professional Development: Norfolk County Council is dedicated to the continuous learning and development of its employees. We provide all Social Workers and Occupational Therapists with a protected half-day each month for professional development and training.
We strive to inspire and motivate our workforce, ensuring a healthy work-life balance while delivering exceptional services to the community. Flexibility is a core aspect of our work culture, with hybrid working being a significant feature of many roles. Our advanced technology and equipment facilitate seamless remote collaboration.
Application Process: When applying, please include a statement that outlines how you meet the person specification and job description for this position. Applications submitted without a supporting statement will not be considered. Registration with Social Work England or HCPC as a practicing Social Worker or Occupational Therapist is required.
Benefits: Norfolk County Council offers various benefits, including relocation expenses (where applicable), an advance on travel expenses, a Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contributions, life assurance, and more.
We encourage you to review the full job description to better understand the criteria for this role.
