Fixed term contract | Competitive salary | Full-time or job share options available
Welcome payment for qualified professionals
Who Cares? We do.
An exciting opportunity has emerged within the Adult Mental Health Social Care service, focusing on the ongoing support of the Countywide Mental Health duty team. We are seeking a Practice Consultant to provide essential cover for maternity leave, ensuring continuity of care and support for our clients.
In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operational needs, which include assigning tasks and providing guidance to assistant practitioners across multiple locality teams. Key responsibilities may encompass Property Protection duties, Crisis assessments, urgent care package commissioning, and initial management of safeguarding referrals.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to thrive under pressure, exhibit strong organizational skills, and effectively prioritize and assess risks associated with incoming cases. While prior experience with mental health clients is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite, as a comprehensive induction will be provided.
You will collaborate with colleagues in a dynamic environment, engaging with various professionals from both internal and external organizations. Although most interactions will occur via telephone, there will be occasions requiring face-to-face assessments, necessitating a valid driving license and access to transportation.
Additionally, you will oversee the work of some practitioners who fulfill the duty function on a permanent basis, offering guidance and support.
What we offer
At Norfolk County Council, we prioritize the learning and development of our employees. All Social Workers and Occupational Therapists are granted a protected half-day each month dedicated to professional development and training.
We strive to inspire and motivate our workforce, promoting a healthy work-life balance while delivering exceptional services to the community. Flexibility is integral to our operations, with hybrid working arrangements available for many roles. Our advanced technology platform facilitates seamless remote collaboration, and we require candidates to have reliable broadband connectivity.
Your application
Candidates are encouraged to include a statement in their application that demonstrates how they meet the person specification and job description for this position. Applications without a supporting statement will not be considered. Registration with Social Work England or HCPC as a practicing social worker or Occupational Therapist is required.
We offer relocation expenses for eligible candidates, an advance on travel expenses, and a comprehensive Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contributions. Additional benefits include life assurance, death in service payments, and a referral payment for recommending candidates for hard-to-fill positions.
Closing date: Please refer to the official posting for application deadlines.
