Internal Staff Volunteer and Development Opportunity

The University of Essex Inclusion team is seeking volunteers to support staff members experiencing harassment, bullying, or other forms of mistreatment. As a Harassment Support Worker, you will provide a confidential listening and advice service through the University's Report and Support System.

We are looking for individuals with experience working with diverse groups, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. You will be trained to provide guidance and support to staff members, signposting them to relevant resources and services.

The role involves a one-week rota system for monitoring the Harassment Advisor Network inbox and Report and Support Dashboard. You will also attend monthly network meetings and training sessions to ensure you are equipped to provide effective support.

  • Completed online How We Work at Essex essential training, specifically the EDI section
