Job Title: Field Service Engineer II

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer II to join our team. As a Field Service Engineer II, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their analytical equipment is running at optimal levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform field service-related duties, including installations, repairs, and maintenance services for Unity Lab Services.
  • Support our Chromatography, Molecular, Sample Preparation, and Discreet Industrial Analyzers primarily across Scotland and North England, with occasional travel across the UK and Ireland service region.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, resulting in customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Meet or exceed service targets, including bookings, revenues, service profit, and overhead cost.
Requirements:
  • Background in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering, or related subjects.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience servicing analytical equipment, or equivalent applications specialist or end user experience.
  • Knowledge of UV-Vis/FTIR/Molecular, Liquid Chromatography, Ion Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, Sample Preparation, or high throughput testing is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to balance multiple tasks with different priorities, and excellent interpersonal and self-motivational skills.
  • Proficient levels of PC literacy, valid UK driving license, and willingness to travel 5 days a week within territory.
