Field Service Engineer II

Job Summary:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their analytical equipment is running at optimal levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality service activities, including installations, repairs, and maintenance services, to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Support our customers across Scotland and North England, with occasional travel across the UK and Ireland service region.
- Collaborate with internal teams to achieve service targets, including bookings, revenues, service profit, and overhead cost.
- Perform field service-related duties in line with internal rules, customer regulations, and health and safety guidelines.
- Provide technical support for our UV-Vis/FTIR/Molecular product range, with opportunities to support Chromatography, Sample Preparation, and DIA instruments.
- Work remotely to provide on-site services, exceeding customer expectations and ensuring positive feedback.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, resolving technical issues promptly and efficiently.
- Utilize web-based tools to ensure customers receive the products and services they require.
- Optimize work schedules by coordinating with internal teams for service planning.
- Manage company assets, including parts inventory, laptop computer, mobile phone, test equipment, tools, software, and company car.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports, including field service reports and expenses reports.
Requirements:
- Background in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or related subjects.
- Minimum 1 year of experience servicing analytical equipment, or equivalent experience as an applications specialist or end user.
- Knowledge of UV-Vis/FTIR/Molecular, Liquid Chromatography, Ion Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, Sample Preparation, or high throughput testing is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to balance multiple tasks, and excellent interpersonal and self-motivational skills.
- Proficient levels of PC literacy and a valid UK driving license.
- Ability to travel 5 days a week within the territory, with occasional nights away from home.
- Good English skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work across all levels, functions, and regions.
