Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Manager to join our Finance & Business Hub (FABH) Directorate. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the performance of this directorate, maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and sensitivity.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act as the main point of contact for WMCA enquiries into the Finance & Business Hub (FABH), providing expert knowledge of each service area to signpost to the most appropriate team/individual.
  2. Maintain the appointment schedules for the Executive Director of Finance & Business and Finance Senior Leadership Team by planning and scheduling meetings and travel.
  3. Liaise with Directors, Leaders, Members to ensure co-ordination of business support to all other directorates/departments across the WMCA.
  4. Develop and monitor performance for FABH, aligning delivery with finances risks and resources.
  5. Manage and co-ordinate input from across FABH into the Annual Business Plan, providing a single view of the entire FABH activity - both projects and business as usual.
  6. Develop, monitor and manage systems and processes to enable FABH to operate efficiently and effectively in assisting WMCA business objectives.
  7. Ensure business operations are orderly and streamlined and FABH decisions are minuted and cascaded.
  8. Prepare briefing notes and responses to external correspondence for the Executive Director of Finance and Business and Deputy S151 officers.
Requirements
  1. Extensive experience of high-level office administration and organisation including secretarial support.
  2. Experience of using MS Office, databases and information systems.
  3. Ability to work in a progressive/fast-moving environment, prioritising workloads and projects to set deadlines.
