About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practitioner to lead our Intravenous Access service at Velindre Cancer Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and education to staff and patients across the division and community setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of evidence-based intravenous access practices and policies.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance and support to staff on intravenous access-related issues.
  • Develop and deliver education programs for healthcare staff on intravenous access best practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols, standards, and guidelines in intravenous access.
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives to evaluate service effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Represent the Trust on regional and national forums to promote best practices in intravenous access.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Registered General Nurse with current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council.
  • Teaching/Mentorship qualification.
  • Substantial experience in managing intravenous access issues and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work across professional boundaries and prioritize a busy workload.
