Job Duties
Your primary duty is to lead all facets of the daily operations within your designated areas of responsibility, ensuring a customer-focused service and that all Portering department tasks are executed professionally and promptly.
You will be accountable for the management, supervision, and administration of your designated areas, which includes but is not limited to: conducting appraisals, monitoring attendance, scheduling bank staff, maintaining sickness/absence records through Trust databases, and organizing both bespoke and mandatory training.
The Lead Portering Supervisor will be expected to delegate tasks as necessary throughout the department while employing effective leadership and problem-solving skills, ensuring adherence to the Trust's policies regarding Equal Opportunities and diversity legislation.
You will manage and maintain adequate staffing levels by coordinating and producing staff duties/rosters, ensuring coverage for any staff absences.
Engage with all users of the portering service, including patients, Trust departments, and external agencies, in a professional manner, and where necessary, resolve issues in accordance with departmental SOPs and Trust policy.

Essential
Educated to QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or a related field Management or Supervisory qualification NVQ Level 3 or higherKnowledge

Experience working within an NHS/Healthcare/Facilities environment Current knowledge of relevant laws and legislation pertaining to NHS/Facilities servicesExperience

Minimum of 2 years of Management or Team Leading experience in Healthcare/Facilities or a related organization Experience in conducting audits and/or delivering training Ability to establish credibility and foster positive relationships with internal management and staff, including managers, clinicians, clients, and stakeholders, while managing these relationships with sensitivity and diplomacySkills
