Job Summary

Portering Team Leader - Operations Manager

Medway NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Portering Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of the Portering Department, ensuring that all tasks and duties are completed in a professional and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the Portering Department, ensuring that all staff are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Coordinate and produce staff duties and rosters, ensuring that adequate staffing levels are maintained.
  • Liaise with patients, trust departments, and external agencies to provide a high-quality portering service.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Portering Department.
  • Monitor and report on departmental performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.

Requirements

  • Education to QCF/NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or related field.
  • Management or supervisory qualification NVQ 3 or higher.
  • 2 years' experience in a management or team leading role in a healthcare or facilities environment.
  • Experience of carrying out audits and delivering training.
  • Ability to establish credibility and good relationships with internal management and staff.
